Big Rock Untapped CD to be launched, February 19, at Alberta Plaza during the Olympics.
Calgary, AB, February 17, 2010 – Big Rock Brewery Income Trust (TSX:BR.UN): An authentic Alberta experience would not be complete without a tasty Big Rock beer in hand. As such the brewery was a natural addition to the Alberta House in Vancouver. A long time supporter of the arts community, Big Rock decided to bring more than just their fine craft beer to the party - they also packed in some fresh, new Canadian music.
"We are honoured to have been asked by the Government of Alberta to introduce our line up of Untapped artists in front of the world," says Jim Button, VP Corporate and Community Affairs, "Our main objective for the Untapped music program is to introduce up-and-coming artists to a new audience and what bigger audience than the one in Vancouver during the Olympics?"
As a small, independent craft brewery Big Rock understands many of the challenges artists are up against as they navigate their way through a competitive industry. Big Rock Untapped was created to help fill a gap in the Canadian music scene and give a leg up to artists trying to reach that next level in their career.
Join Alberta's Culture and Community Spirit Minister Lindsay Blackett as he helps Big Rock launch the new Untapped Volume 3 compilation CD at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia. Blackett toasts the event, "We are very proud of our homegrown talent and are honoured to be showcasing these artists to the world. Big Rock Brewery is an Alberta company that is committed to the arts. Not just to the art of brewing, but to all the arts, as part of their commitment to community."
