Warthog Ale

  • Style: Brown ale
  • Colour: Warm reddish light brown
  • Key Ingredients: Blend of pale, caramel and black malts and a blend of three hop varieties
  • Character: Malty with a hint of toffee balanced with very evident hop and followed by a clean finish.

BREWERY AND THE BEAST

Back in ’93, Ed McNally went to the zoo.

No one is sure why. Ed just seems to get around. At any rate, while there, he was fascinated by the ugliest creature he had ever seen. The beast reminded him of the wild boars featured on the labels of some classic British beers, but it was far more bizarre. It was a warthog, and Ed decided it deserved its own ale.
